In order to determine the
relationship between postural loading and danger of skeletal-muscle disorder in
administrative workers of a public financial institution in Maracaibo,
descriptive cross-sectional study was realized in 60 workers with an average
age of 32.00 and standard deviation ± 06.14 years old 4.65 ± 2.26 years' work,
located in the different jobs of the operating areas of that institution. To
assess the danger of working postures the REBA (Rapid Assessment Full Body),
prior determination thereof, by direct observation and to collect the symptoms
of musculoskeletal disorders method Nordic Questionnaire was used standardized
applied. The analysis results REBA scores regarding age range revealed that
most studied personnel presents very high and high risk valuesskeletal muscle
disorders with positive correlation between variables. Correlation REBA score
by body segments at risk of TME showed significant relationship between the
adoption of awkward postures and prolonged maintenance of the same level of
upper limbs. In conclusion, it was shown that those workers, regardless of sex,
present a very high danger of skeletal-muscle disorders by the highly
repetitive nature of work activity at the level of senior members. Based on the
findings of this research, it is suggested to implement occupational
epidemiological surveillance with an emphasis on the musculoskeletal system and
perform design review jobs.
